Can you imagine the thrill of observing lions and hyenas in battle over a fresh kill? Can you feel the blazing heat of the African sun beat down on you as you witness a graceful giraffe give birth? When you allow your mind to wonder, can you vividly picture the hot pursuit of a cheetah against a nimble gazelle? If you can easily envision all of these well-choreographed nature scenes in your mind, you would probably thoroughly enjoy yourself on a wild African safari.

African safari vacations are not for the faint of heart. You will see wildlife at its worst and best. If you get squeamish just thinking about witnessing the hunt between predator and prey, a wild African safari vacation may not be your cup of tea. If, however, you get chills down your spine just thinking about getting up close and personal with elephants at a watering hole, hippos frolicking in the river, or zebras grazing in the bush, you would love an African safari.

Typically, a well-planned vacation on the African plains can set you back a bundle. Airfare alone to Nairobi, Kenya from the United States can cost thousands of dollars. Add a customized safari excursion for seven to 10 days, and you are looking at a pretty steep price tag for your vacation among Africa's wildest creatures. There are ways around this dilemma, though, and all you need is a few minutes of your time and access to a computer. With travel auctions, you can bid for your dream safari vacation online, without having to pay exorbitant prices.

African Safaris--the Economical Way

If your dream is to witness Africa's wildlife in all its glory, then an African safari adventure would be just up your alley. Bidding for such vacations can cut prices dramatically, sometimes as much as 50-70 percent or more. If you have always wanted to visit Africa but could not afford to do so, you finally have a feasible option. All you have to do is place your bid, wait for a response confirming you've won the bid, and pack your bags--you are going on a wild African safari!
