Chattanooga offers plenty of hotels and motels in which to stay during a visit to this so-called "Scenic City." This picturesque Tennessee town has consistently been a favorite weekend getaway spot, as well as a popular destination for business travelers. The area offers a host of family friendly attractions as well as high-tech space for conventions and conferences.

Chattanooga is renowned for its significant historical sites, including the country's largest national military park, the Chickamauga and Chattanooga. This is the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War in which Union and Confederate armies fought for control of Chattanooga, a key railway center for the South. The park has long been a major historical draw in an area with many culturally important attractions.

Chattanooga Railroad History

The Chattanooga Choo Choo is perhaps the area's most famous attraction, having been memorialized in a famous song. Now a 30-acre complex that includes a convention center, hotel, shopping and eating venue, the former train station plays host to visitors from all over the world. The Choo Choo is also home to some worthwhile events and festivals held throughout the year.

A visit to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is another way to experience the railroad era that is such an important part of Chattanooga history. Not only can visitors take train rides, but also check out locomotives dating back to the 19th Century. Whatever vacation or business experience is desired, visitors can find hotels and motels in the Chattanooga area available for reservation from many online travel companies, often for a discounted price.
