A sightseeing trip to Nashville could easily last two weeks; there is so much to do here in "Music City USA." Most people come to spend at least part of their time in Opryland, which lies northeast of downtown Nashville. Opryland includes not only the Grand Ole Opry House, but a host of other fun musical attractions.

Nashville's Premiere Country Music Attraction

Nashville has become synonymous with country music and the home of the long-running Grand Ole Opry radio show. Live shows are still popular and often sell out far in advance. Also of interest here is the Grand Ole Opry Museum, which memorializes the important musical contributions of the show's stars.

The Opryland Hotel is a major draw in and of itself. The hotel not only provides accommodations and a convention center, but numerous shops and restaurants. The vast indoor gardens and lake are perhaps the most famous part of this attraction. Opryland is also home to the Music Valley Car Museum and the Willie Nelson and Friends Showcase Museum.

When booking a reservation in one of many area hotels and motels, it's important to map out nearby attractions, shopping, and dining venues. A trip to Opryland may require extra time and planning, since it is located outside of the city center. Visitors to Nashville and other popular destinations can take advantage of online services that provide maps and public transportation information.
