Spring break heats up Miami like no other season. Many college students make a pilgrimage to South Beach come springtime, escaping the winter chill and tough exams back at school. Additionally, Miami has a reputation of being popular with celebrities, making the South Beach's Art Deco District a popular spot for college students to attempt a star sighting. As a result, many travel agencies and hotels offer special spring break packages, taking the guesswork out of vacation planning and brining young spring-breakers together.

Spring Break Activities

Whether you choose to lie on the beach or head out for the shops during the day, an exciting nightlife awaits you. Miami is famous for its insatiable appetite for the party life. Similar to Las Vegas, Miami is a city that never sleeps. It is not unusual to find dance clubs lit until morning, and spring break only seems to intensify the celebration. Many dance clubs consist of multiple story buildings, offering different dance music styles within one amazing location.

Large beach parties are also a common occurrence in South Beach during spring break. Travelers over the age of 21 are allowed to drink on the beach, but be sure to keep in mind that no glass bottles are allowed. MTV-sponsored events keep South Beach busy during the day, but because there is no large beachside venue, these events are generally based out of several hotels.

Overall, most of the clubs and bars make an effort to cater to students during this popular tourist time, making South Beach an ideal spring break location. Many hotels offer group rates as an added incentive for college students looking to find a deal. No matter where you choose to stay, remember to drink responsibly and pack extra sunscreen!
