There are a number of different reasons for booking group vacation cruises including family reunions, high school and college reunions, business meetings, fundraising events, athletic adventures, and weddings. Most travel experts recommend booking a cruise vacation anywhere from six months to one year in advance. When you consider all the planning that goes into a group vacation, it makes sense to give yourself and your group this much planning time.

When planning a group cruise, there are a number of different things to consider. For example, did you know you must book a preferred dining time for your group? In order to serve all the passengers, most cruise ships have a rotating dining schedule. In addition, you need to book early if you want to book rooms in the same part of the ship for all of your guests.

Finding Discounts on Group Cruise Packages

Many of the top cruise lines offer significant discounts for group reservations. In general, a group consists of five or more couples. Some cruise lines even offer additional rooms for free when you book more than five rooms. If you're looking for the best deals on cruise packages, you need to take the time to compare quotes from the different cruise lines.

There are a number of other ways to receive discounts on group cruises. If you have traveled on a particular cruise line in the past, you might be eligible for discounts, room upgrades, and special coupons. If you're a member of AARP or you're in the military, either active or retired, you also qualify for discounts with several of the major cruise lines.
