If you're planning a group vacation, you can find a number of different packages with a wide range of prices. Group rates depend on destination, mode of transportation, and lodging preferences. In addition, if you want to take in the sights, entertainment, and dining, you can expect an increase in the rate of your group travel package.

When it comes to creating a budget for your group vacation, one of the first things you need to determine is your desired destination. If you're planning a family reunion or a high school reunion, it's a good idea to choose a destination that's centrally located. In general, when you book travel packages in remote locations or international destinations, some group members simply cannot afford to participate.

Budgeting Your Group Vacation

One of the best ways to cut down on travel costs is to book ground transportation. You can charter a minibus for as low as $15 per day, per person. If you want to take in the sights with ten or more people, you can charter a tour bus. Many tour buses offer overnight packages that start at around $550 per person for a week of travel.

When booking a group vacation, it's important for all the group members to be on the same page when it comes to lodging. While students may find it perfectly acceptable to stay in youth hostels during their travels in Europe, some adults simply can't go without their own hotel rooms. If you really want to cut back on costs for group travel, you can even book vacation packages that include camping in the great outdoors. Typical camping rates run as low as $9 per night. Before you book overnight accommodations for your group, it's a good idea to have a meeting to determine budget limits, special needs, and preferences.
