Big Island hotels can be booked as part of vacation packages, which will end up saving you money in the long run. And there's plenty of budget activities available on the Big Island, especially if you love outdoor activities. Try hiking to the peak of Mauna Kea, but be careful: stay hydrated and take it easy up there, after all, it's the world's tallest mountain, when measured from its base on the ocean floor.

Many Big Island hotels are family friendly as well, and include some free meals for children under 12. There's no shortage of family friendly fun to be had on the Big Island, many activities companies run children's programs that can include anything from surfing lessons to nature walks. The Big Island is a wonder to be beheld by all ages.

Black sand beaches and an almost surreal landscape are just some of the Big Island's most sought-out attractions. Whether you're on a honeymoon or a family adventure, the Big Island will no doubt stay with you for years to come. Finding a good base from which to explore the island is essential, then you can take it from there.
