The Kona Coast is one of the most popular destinations on Hawaii's Big Island. There are a number of resorts that rival anything on Kauai or Maui, and there is even a spot that allows people to enjoy a piece of ancient Hawaii. Located close to the town of Kailua-Kona, many coastal resorts perfectly marry the natural beauty of Hawaii with the conveniences that many tourists crave.

Kona has become widely known for its coffee, and many people travel to the Big Island just to see coffee country. There are actually tours that allow people to see where those amazing blends come from, while learning a little about the region's history. The coffee tours always end with a tasting, so be prepared to cast away the instant coffee that's waiting back at home.

Kona Tours

The Big Island has a variety of tours that are worth taking part in. Along with the coffee country, the Big Island is home to some of the most amazing landscapes in Hawaii. Giant volcanoes seem to emerge from the ocean, and there are a number of ways to get a little closer to these sleeping giants. Hiking allows a traveler to take in the details of the land, while helicopter tours allow people to travel to the very heights of the Big Island.

Most island tours can be easily reached or chartered from the Kona Coast. In fact, most resorts will have buses or vans that provide transportation to tour sites everyday. Some will even provide special rates and tour packages for their guests.
