The Kona Coast, located in the Keauhou area of the Big Island, has become synonymous with great coffee. Kona coffee is sought after by connoisseurs all over the world. Its rich flavor and soothing fragrance set it apart from the average cup of joe. Kona, however, has far more to offer than just a quick morning pick-me-up.

The resorts at Kona are some of the most luxurious in Hawaii. When guests aren't taking a dip in the waters of the Pacific, they can go for a swim in a split-level pool or a sandy lagoon. Unlike many resorts throughout the Hawaiian islands, most Kona resorts are not cut off from the rest of the world. They are located near the historic town of Kailua-Kona. This quaint locale offers shops, restaurants, and entertainment for everyone who is staying on the coast.

Staying in resorts can give you a truly different experience than you'd get in a hotel. Some resorts give you the chance to experience a Hawaii that has not existed for some time. Instead of traditional hotel rooms, some resorts house visitors in private thatched-roof bungalows. There may not be any TVs, phones, or other modern trappings that bring stress to the island.

Resorts are often a favorite among honeymooners. Many resorts will offer several different romance packages for couples who want to spend their vacations in seclusion. It's a good idea to inquire before making reservations about any honeymoon or romance-themed specials.
