Although I'm not quite sure exactly how to pronounce this Hawaiian name, I can tell you for sure that Lanai golf is some of the most beautiful golf you will ever come across. Even if you're playing your game, going about your business, and your cart girl or boy is one of the cutest things ever created, you will still be hard-pressed to tear your eyes from the scenery. Unless, of course, you've found a way to look at both at the same time.

If you're planning on staying a few nights for convenient Lanai golf, you've absolutely picked the right place. Lanai is known to have the best hotels on an island known for nice hotels. Try to get there with someone special. It's more fun to take advantage of a sweet hotel with someone you care about.

Playing Lanai Golf

Lanai's two championship courses were both designed by Jack Nicklaus, so you know these courses aren't for the faint of heart. They were built on natural lava outcroppings--a substance so abundant in Hawaii, conducive to golf courses, yet potentially dangerous for the golfer and his little white ball. Only the serious golfers attempt this course with true appreciation of the design.

For those who may want to do a little course research before settling with Lanai golf, check out the Challenge at Manele course and the Experience at Koele. The names alone of these course strike fear and excitement in the golfer looking for a memorable time. Have a blast, stay in a great hotel, but prepare yourself mentally and physically for the courses at Lanai.
