Oahu family vacations can take many forms. Marine wildlife watching is a favorite activity for families visiting Oahu, especially for those willing to travel a little further off the beaten vacation path. Tours are offered for small groups on sailboats to go see dolphins and other marine wildlife in their natural habitats. These tours often promote awareness and conservation of the complex ecosystem of the waters around Oahu.

Oahu Family Vacations in Waikiki

Many of the tours and activities offered in Waikiki were created with families in mind. The Waikiki Beach commercial strip is a great place to take a walk and learn a little about its colorful past with historical landmarks along the way. Kids as young as eight can take surfing lessons on the beach where the surf is calm and good for beginners.

A traditional Hawaiian luau is a great way to enjoy one of many Oahu family vacations. The Polynesian Cultural Center offers a fantastic family friendly luau, with no liquor served and plenty of ways for the kids to get involved. The kids will love the fiery spectacle and enjoy making crafts and getting temporary tattoos.

Be sure to leave plenty of time for exploring the island's many natural wonders. Oahu family vacations can often include any number of outdoor activities, including snorkeling at Hanauma Bay and horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch. There is no shortage of engaging activities offered on Oahu intended to challenge and dazzle the minds of youngsters, and keep their parents pretty happy, too.
