Reno Hotels

Most people, when they think of gambling and casinos, think of Las Vegas, Nevada. There is another equally as fun town in Nevada that doesn't receive quite the amount of press as the former city. This is Reno, Nevada--otherwise known as the "Biggest Little City in the World." It's full of casinos, just like Las Vegas, but has a slightly more relaxed and outdoorsy feel to it.

Reno boasts nearby Tahoe with its gorgeous lake and surrounding area that's great for skiing and other snow sports. Reno is about nine hours northwest of Las Vegas. People who live closer to Reno can get the same thrill of gambling and entertainment from outrageous shows as in Vegas, but can save on gas and airfare. There are even some of the same hotels in Reno as there are in Vegas, such as Caesars and Circus Circus.

Another great plus is that Reno tends to be a bit less expensive than Las Vegas in just about every area. You can gamble, get drinks, see some amazing shows, take day tours and stay in a great hotel all for a price you would never find in Las Vegas. Aside from the fact that both cities offer casinos, gambling and wild entertainment, they are really very different.

Activities in Reno

Since Reno is such a beautiful place, you'll likely be drawn to some of the many outdoor activities that you can partake in. Why not take your first hot air balloon ride over Lake Tahoe and grab a stunning view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains? If you prefer to stay on the ground, consider horseback riding, fishing or golfing. Reno is home to several PGA golf courses that any avid golfer will have trouble staying away from.

When you've been in a casino all evening, it's nice to be able to wake up the next morning and know that many outdoor activities await you. The air is fresh, and the scenery is beautiful. You might want to think about taking a morning hike before breakfast or perhaps going snorkeling in the afternoon. When you wake up to find the sun streaming in your room, you won't be able to suppress the feeling of needing to get outside.

Reno Accommodations

If you are staying in a hotel with a fantastic view, the beauty of your surroundings will certainly inspire you. You don't have to have a view to die for, however, in order to get the most out of Reno. Reno has lodgings to suit any budget. You can find motels, hotels and four-star resorts. It all depends on the money you are willing to spend.

You don't have to drain your wallet to have a fantastic Reno vacation. You can even stay in one of Reno's several resort casinos and save money. With those, it all depends on the room you get. If you want a luxury suite on one of the top floors, you will have to pay more than you would for something smaller and closer to the ground. However, you will still have access to the salons, spas, restaurants and other world-class amenities.

Let's say you've chosen to stay at the Golden Phoenix. This is Reno's newest casino resort. For parents who want to bring their children but wouldn't mind a little alone time as well, the Golden Phoenix offers a Family Fun Center. The Center has dozens of enthralling games for your children to play while you see a show or take to a blackjack table. If you aren't traveling with children, there's a 10,000 square foot nightclub on the top level.
