Hotels In Venice Italy

Hotels in Venice Italy have never been more expensive. Demand is at an all time high and prices are as high as the market will bear. It is good to know that everything in Venice--lodging, food, wine, souvenirs--costs twice as much as anywhere else in the country. Though prices used to drop in the off-season, it's an unfortunate truth that many hotels in Venice Italy don't acknowledge off-season any longer and charge full-season prices year round.

If you insist on staying in hotels in Venice Italy proper, you must book your rooms three months in advance. If you are planning to visit Venice in June, July or August, you must book at least six months in advance. Zealous enthusiasts of in-town lodging secure their accommodations up to a year prior to their trip.

Hotels in Venice Italy: Your Options

Should you find yourself in Venice with nowhere to go, there are booking agencies. These services will do their level best to find you a room "in Venice," but quite often the best they'll be able to do is get you into a motel in Mestre or Jesolo. These outlying urban districts, though convenient at only half an hour away, are not very pretty places to return to after walking the streets of the most beautiful city in the world.

You may want to consider taking a room, suite, or apartment slightly out of town. There are many places much more attractive than the "suburbs" of Venice that are equally close to all her treasures. Within a drive of 30 to 50 minutes you can find many country hotels and inns that offer great charm and hospitality for less than a third of what you'd pay in town.
