If you are one of the people, like George Clooney, who can afford to purchase a villa in Tuscany, do so. Don't even think twice about it. What could be better than owning a gorgeous, cozy, private villa in the middle of one of the most beautiful and romantic towns in Europe? You never have to deal with reservations or other guests and you certainly won't have to book far in advance.

You can peruse the Internet all you like for villas. However, when it comes to making an actual purchase, you should definitely go and check out some places. People tend to make things sound and look as best as possible online. You'll want to not only see the villas, but check them out for problems as well. Find out about the plumbing, building structure, bugs and other such things.

It's also good to find out how the seasons affect the land you're on. Check out the local area. Go for a ride and see what towns are closest to you and what each one has to offer. The surrounding area can be as big a factor as the villa itself. Visiting the place will also tell you if you need or want to do any renovating. Maybe you want to add a swimming pool, hot tub or remodel the kitchen.

Renting Your Villa

Some people buy villas with the specific intention of renting them out during the times when they aren't there. This is a great way to help pay bills and perhaps make a little money. If you choose to do this, you'll probably have to hire a property manager. This is someone who will look after the place while you're gone. After all, you don't want guests showing up to a dirty house with plumbing problems.
