Ocho Rios Hotels

Ocho Rios hotels cover a range of accommodations and prices, suitable for families and others on a budget, as well as those who want the most luxurious lodgings. The town's Main Street is the location for most of its hotels, bars, banks, restaurants, and shopping centers. There are two stretches of public beaches, one near the west end of Main Street--variously called UDC, Mallards, Turtle, and Ocho Rios Bay--and the other on the eastern side--Mahogany Beach.

Both strips of beach are well-maintained; Turtle Beach has showers, changing rooms, and bars, and Mahogany offers a beach bar and grill, swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, and clean sea swimming. All the other sections of the beaches are owned by all-inclusive, Ocho Rios hotels that charge a fee for visitors who are not guests of the hotel, if they let them in at all.

Different Types of Ocho Rios Hotels

Although the hotels are mostly gathered along Main Street, they vary from discount hotels to luxury hotels. Graded from two- to five-star, these hotels have rooms suitable for single occupants or families and groups. More than likely, they have Jamaica vacation packages that can include everything from air fare to meals.

Jamaica Grande Beach is a hotel beach that is open to the public, and parasailing is great in this area. Watersports in general are prime activities all along the shore near Ocho Rios hotels: jet skiing, diving, snorkeling, fishing. Most of Ocho Rios is given over to resorts and their all-inclusive Jamaica vacations which enable a couple or family to settle on one total for lodging, meals, and recreation.
