More and more families are discovering that a home-away-from-home vacation really suits their needs. At the same time, there are thousands of families that own homes or cabins in major resort areas and who use them only once or twice a year. Owners who place their homes with property management companies for vacation rentals have the best of both worlds. They can enjoy their vacation homes when they want to and can make a profit for the rest of the year.

Lake Tahoe Vacation House Rentals

As a premier vacation destination, Lake Tahoe offers a number of different options when it comes to lodgings. In addition to world-class hotels, romantic bed and breakfast inns, ski lodges, and vacation retreat venues, hundreds of houses are available to rent for a great family vacation. Instead of trying to keep the kids occupied in an expensive room or suite, the family can enjoy all of the comforts of home, often including a porch, a hot tub, and a yard for picnicking.

Finding exactly the right house is as easy as conducting a simple web search. The majority of Tahoe rental houses are available on websites that include not only a description of each one's amenities but also a virtual tour. Searchers usually have the option of checking out the dates the homes are available by using calendars that display both the taken dates, the open dates, and the rates per day for every time of the year.

Vacationers can contact management companies by phone, but many of them also offer online registration. A deposit is required to hold a specific house or cabin. Some of the vacation rental management companies will take a credit card to finalize the booking and lock in the rates. Remember that deposits may be non-refundable. One important tip: be sure to obtain a confirmation of registration and directions to the rental as well as a list of the management company's rules and regulations.
