Lake Tahoe has a type of lodging for every vacation, wedding, meeting, training, or retreat that can be planned. From ski vacations in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains to houseboats on the lake, the choices are almost endless. Honeymooners can rent a romantic cabin on the lake shore or a secluded mountain cabin with a breathtaking view. For those who require first-class room service, a gym, heated pool, and fine dining, there are world-class hotels and casinos from which to choose.

Family Vacation Lodgings

One of the most popular choices for families is renting a house or cabin. There they can be comfortable, let their hair down, and relax as much as they want while still experiencing the beauty of Lake Tahoe and having easy access to resort nightlife, sandy beaches, boating, fishing, and horseback riding. Outdoor sports abound in an area that experiences about 300 days of sun per year.

For those who need a larger venue for a business getaway or training, for a family reunion, or for a church retreat, there are larger cabins and lodges available for rental. These venues hold from eight to just about 100 people. They are often booked well in advance, so it's important to look for a suitable location as soon as the dates are finalized.

Great resort hotels and casinos offer rooms and suites for just about every size of family and every budget. At the same time, there are many quaint, rustic, and romantic bed and breakfast inns near the lake and in resort areas. Nearly all of the lodgings in Lake Tahoe can be rented online, and most will assist with access to and information about local attractions and activities available.
