Lake Tahoe Reservations

Once you've made the decision to enjoy a unique Lake Tahoe vacation, the next steps are to determine what type of accommodations you need and to make reservations as early as possible. Because Tahoe has plenty to offer during all four seasons and because many vacation locations offer a wide variety of activities, it is important to decide what activity or activities will be the center of your vacation. For example, skiers will have very different needs from corporate retreat groups.

Rental Cabins, Condos, and Bed and Breakfasts

The good news is that most Lake Tahoe resort areas can provide visitors with a choice of several different types of accommodations. In many cases, that includes everything from world-class resort hotels to one-room rental cabins with jacuzzis. Even better is the fact that most of these venues will accept and confirm online reservations.

Good online reservation brokers will often offer virtual tours of their available lodgings before you book. This gives vacationers the opportunity to compare the amenities in cabins, bed and breakfasts, condos, and even luxury hotels before making a choice. Websites almost always include availability options and rates. Visitors can click on a cabin that looks promising and can then check to see what it costs per day or week by looking at a calendar. The calendar will also show which dates are already reserved.

Once the visitor has decided which lodging most appeals to him or her, it is a simple process to book it for the expected vacation dates. Some types of accommodations require an online deposit by check or credit card, while many hotels will accept a credit card to hold the rooms but will not charge the card until the group arrives. Once the financial details are addressed, the visitor will receive a confirmation number that will hold the room or cabin. Finally, if there are any questions or special accommodations needed, the visitor to the reservations site will also have access to a phone number through which to make such requests.
