Great Belize Dive Vacations

Belize dive vacations take you to one of the earth's prime underwater diving regions. Aside from countless nooks and crannies along the shores of myriad cayes and atolls and reefs, Belize diving offers world-class and world-famous experiences. The country's Barrier Reef is the longest in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world!

Belize depends on tourism and encourages visitors in many ways to enjoy its underwater treasures, which are protected as World Heritage Sites. Divers are also protected here--San Pedro on Ambergris Caye maintains a Hyperbaric Chamber for diving emergencies that is available 24 hours a day to dive operators. Courses are offered by Belize dive resorts from beginner to certification.

Enjoyment for Divers and Non-Divers

Local resorts make arrangements to accommodate couples, families, and groups that have both diving and non-diving persons. Travel packages are easily organized to make sure the interests of all members of a group are taken into account. While one parent ventures into Shark Ray Alley with scuba gear, the other might chaperone the kids on a snorkel expedition near a beach, or a paddle outing on a gentle river.

Belize dive vacations can be designed for the north part of the country, or the south--or both! This land is only 180 miles long, so covering territory is not a problem. There is a difference in the people of the six districts of Belize, because this is definitely a multi-cultural, multi-lingual melting pot! On Ambergris Caye in the north, the locals are mostly of Mexican descent, and the diver has access to the famous Blue Hole, and the huge fish of Hol Chan Marine Reserve. To the south, the Garifuna culture has a unique, laid-back influence, and the diver can explore the treasures of Laughing Bird Caye.
