Renting a flat in London is probably more suitable for those who are looking to spend a long time in London, or are there for purposes other than vacationing. London is such a big city that it is essential to know what part you intend to stay in before renting a flat. London is divided into North, West, East and South London, with the addition of the West End and the old City of London. The West End is where all the theatres and nightclubs are, and the City is where such landmarks as Fleet Street and the Old Lady of Threadneedle Street (the Bank of England) are situated.

Flat Accommodation in London

London offers a wealth of different environments, so there is something to suit everyone. You will be able to find flats located in areas where many cafes, shops, restaurants and bars are located if you like a vibrant atmosphere. Notting Hill is one area in which you'll find lots of rented accommodations--this area has been made even more famous by the movie of the same name. If you would like to see how the rich and famous live in London, you'll be attracted to such areas as Belgravia or Mayfair, where many celebrities and aristocrats live.

If you like long walks, rent a flat near Hyde Park or one of London's other large parks. If you intend to travel around the city a lot, it might be in your best interest to rent an apartment which is conveniently located close to a tube station or bus station, depending on how you'd prefer to travel. That way you can get around without wasting too much time.

Prices of flats vary tremendously from one place to another. Usually they are more expensive around important locations such as Westminster, where the houses of parliament are, and Mayfair and Belgravia as already mentioned. There are many agencies available to help you find a flat according to your budget and needs. It is better to rent a flat ahead of the time you need to move in, but if you can't, there are always some flats ready to rent even at short notice.
