New York Shopping Trips

Shopping and Manhattan go together like peanut butter and jelly. When in New York City, you cannot help but hit the stores for a little bit of shopping. What makes New York so ideal for shopping enthusiasts is that there is such a diverse scope of stores to choose from--it is almost impossible not to find what you are looking for during your shopping excursions.

Of course, New York is home to some of the most upscale stores in the world. If couture clothing and accessories are what make you happy, you will have no trouble finding what you want. Gucci, Prada, and Armani clothing, shoes, handbags, and makeup are all sold in the city, but be prepared to spend some cash, as these designer names are extremely pricey. You can head over to Barney's, Saks, or Bergdorf Goodman for some serious shopping, as many designer labels are sold at these stores.

If couture is out of your price range, there is no need to fret, as Manhattan is full of eclectic boutiques that sell one-of-a-kind items at reasonable prices. If you like stores that sell unique perfumes, candles, and funky clothes, then you will absolutely love shopping in New York City. Fortunately, many shops and boutiques sell their goods at reasonable prices, so you can actually do more than just window shop.

Bring Your Wallet for Some Shopping Fun

Some of the best shopping can be found in Soho and Greenwich Village. Here is where you'll find street vendors with inexpensive trinkets, scarves, hats, rings, sunglasses, umbrellas, and other seasonal items. You never know when you'll find something truly unique. Always keep safety in mind when shopping--it's better to carry credit cards or traveler's checks rather than cash. Keep your bank's phone number handy, too, just in case.
