Whistler Golf

Whistler golf packages are often responsible for luring the "winterphobic" to one of the continent's most vaunted ski resorts. To call Whistler Blackcomb a ski resort, however, is to do it a grave disservice; after all, the destination is not only perennially ranked in the top two or three mountain hideaways by travel companies and magazines, but among the top summertime getaways as well.

While the lush environs and crystal lakes are impressive enough, it's Whistler golf that attracts the majority of summer tourists. With five courses form which to choose, Whistler boasts a veritable "Grand Slam" (and then some) of golf options for discriminating players. Moreover, courses such as Nicklaus North and Whistler Golf Club bear the imprimatur of the pros who designed them, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, respectively.

More Choices for Whistler Golf

Those vacationers looking to escape Whistler Village for the day need drive no farther than Big Sky some 25 minutes north of the resort. This 7000-yard course sits beneath Mount Currie, which casts its pall over the greens and fairways and reminds you on every stroke of your magnificent surroundings. The club also hosts the Big Sky Golf Academy for those looking to brush up a bit before teeing off.

Whistler golf packages are available through a multitude of travel companies, many of which offer significant discounts to those who buy ahead of season. Even though the summer tourist numbers cannot match those of winter, there remains a constant flow of vacationers year-round, for Whistler is a four-season destination and bills itself as such. You can therefore save on Whistler golf deals by making your reservations in the spring when vacancies are still plentiful and the links are relatively unpopulated.
