A vacation in a cabin in the woods can give a person a whole new outlook on life. Surrounded by the magnificence of nature and the peace of solitude, it's almost impossible not to think about life and family and what it all means. If you're thinking about a mountain vacation but are concerned about "roughing it," stop worrying. Many of the cabins in the Gatlinburg area are so luxurious as to be almost decadent.

Gatlinburg Rental Cabin Amenities

These are no log huts we're talking about. These are genuinely comfortable retreats where those who are running in the rat race can unwind, listen to the silence, and get back a sense of peace. Some of the amenities you will find in these cabins include pillow-top queen and king sized beds with quilts and comforters, satellite television with VCR and DVD hook-ups, pool tables, jacuzzis and hot tubs, washers and dryers, and every modern kitchen appliance anyone could need.

Of course, just looking out the over large windows is worth the trip. The Great Smoky Mountains will surround you while streams may run right by your cabin. You can relax in a hot tub on the porch or luxuriate in a jacuzzi bath for two. Hiking is great, and shopping or dining in Gatlinburg is a treat. Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Dollywood are just a short drive away.

Reserving a Cabin

The best way to find the perfect cabin for your getaway is to check out a few of the many websites that advertise cabins in the Gatlinburg area. Most of them offer cabins ranging from one bedroom to eight or more bedrooms, and the majority also offer virtual tours so that you can view and select the one you really like. You can make your reservations online, but note that some of the management companies require a deposit to finalize it. Many cabins are discounted by season, and weekday rates tend to be lower than weekend rates. Packages are also available.
