For those who have never visited the Gatlinburg area, a stay in one of the private rental cabins at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains could be the start of the best vacation ever. Gatlinburg is, in fact, a major vacation destination in the Southeast because it offers so many ways to have great fun. Even more, it is a place where couples, families, and groups can find peace, get to know each other again, or simply enjoy being together.

Private Rental Cabins

Most of these cabins are owned by individuals and rented by management companies who act on their behalf. Because most of the several hundred cabins have single owners, almost all of them are unique. Layouts are different; decors are generally modern country. Modern kitchens and bathrooms, lots of windows facing mountain scenes, cable or satellite television, and even hot tubs are fairly common.

Cabins are often available year round, and Gatlinburg itself offers festivals, fairs, and other entertainments to delight visitors at any time of the year. The first step to finding a dream cabin for a romantic honeymoon, a cozy cabin for a family vacation, or a larger cabin for a family or group retreat is to search online and to take a virtual tour of the ones that match your needs and budget. Some management companies even accept reservations online.

Things to Do in Gatlinburg

Besides that inescapable beauty of the mountains, visitors can check out the Smoky Mountain Winery, the Mysterious Mansion, Sweet Fanny Adams Theater and Music Hall, and Earthquake--the Ride. For true country music fans, Dollywood is just a short drive away. Close to Gatlinburg's private rental cabins are horseback riding, golf, fishing, hiking, and great local parks for picnicking.
