Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are a perfect complementary couple as far as tourist destinations go. One has amusement parks, the other has aquariums and museums. One sells fun celebrity merchandise, the other is home to the largest community of artisans and craftsmen in the region. One has Vegas-style musical shows, the other more bluegrass than you can shake a fiddle at. One has Dolly, the other has Ripley. Together, they're a great vacation.

Good Times in Blue Grass Country

Pigeon Forge has the ever-popular Dollywood. This full-scale amusement park has all the necessities: big wooden roller coasters, musical shows, artisan-themed shopping, and of course, a museum featuring the landmarks of the lovely Dolly Parton's career. Many of Dolly's costumes and personal effects are on display here, making Dollywood a must-see for any real fan of the music legend.

Pigeon Forge also has one of the standout outlet malls in the country open just about every day of the year for your shopping pleasure. Many of the finest names in clothing, housewares, and accessories call Pigeon Forge their home. Though many come to Pigeon Forge to enjoy the famous amusement park, nearly equal numbers come to enjoy the shopping paradise.

Gatlinburg, on the other hand, features hundreds of restaurants spanning all culinary tastes. There are also museums, fun amusements, and some of the finest locally-made handcrafts in the region. Together, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg let you have your culture, with a spoonful of fun to go with it.
