Pigeon Forge, in conjunction with Gatlinburg and nearby Sevierville, serves up an annual Winterfest to the delight of hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. Over six million lights across the three towns create an environment of storybook magic, perfect to spark the imagination of every child, small or grown. Winterfest has been praised as "The Best Festival in America" by major tourist organizations, and it seems that the public would agree.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

The sparkling landscape provides a glittering night-time world that makes it seem anything is possible. Music fills the streets, mouthwatering aromas fill the air, and shop windows shine with goodies on display. Gatlinburg offers handmade treasures, and Pigeon Forge offers everything else.

Pigeon Forge is a shopper's paradise anyway. But come Christmas time, it's a staggering showplace of delights. The three enormous outlet malls make finding every nearly every gift on your list not only easy, but also considerably more affordable. Evening shopping is particularly magical. There's something very old world about sparkling landscapes, carols, and gleaming treasures in store windows.

Of course, it's the winter sports which make the Currier and Ives picture complete. Night ice skating and skiing are particularly enchanting. And the aerial tram, providing breathtaking views any time of year, lets you know firsthand what the view is like for Santa and his eight magical reindeer.
