Brenham Texas Bed And Breakfasts

Brenham, Texas is located in the south-central part of the state and is rich with both delicate bluebonnets and reminders of the state's rugged historic past. Some of the names you'll hear over and over are Stephen Austin, Sam Houston, and Davy Crockett--and don't forget the Alamo, either. Never forget the Alamo.

While it's nearly midway between the capitol, Austin, and America's fourth largest city, Houston, Brenham is in a quiet area, ideal for quaint bed and breakfasts. If you want a modern high-rise hotel, stick to the big cities. If you want a charming plantation-era setting with period buildings and furnishings, get off the highway and take in a B and B.

Brenham's B and Bs Please

There is something about the South; whenever you hear that accent, you know you'll also get that famous Southern hospitality. That counts for Texas, too. I've been to Texas many times, from the far west (El Paso) to the very bottom (Brownsville) to the dead center (Austin). What stands out is their politeness; Texans are, in general, as warm, generous, and genuine as anyone I've met.

Bed and breakfast operators also exhibit that same courtesy. I don't know if it's because they are generally the owners of those establishments and sincerely want you to have a great stay, or if it's just the vibe that all B and B's possess. A stay at a Brenham bed and breakfast is a trip back in time; but don't worry, they have VCRs and all the modern amenities, too.
