Today's holiday options are vast and varied. How do you know what option is right for you? It depends on the kind of vacations you like taking. Do you like the feel of a hotel, or would you prefer a setting that's closer to a true home-away-from-home?

Various Types of Holiday Options

The most traditional kind of vacation requires purchasing a hotel room of some kind for the duration of your stay. Bed and breakfast and resort rooms (even most cruises) fall into this category. This option is best for people who are unsure as to the kind of economic future they're likely to have.

Time shares are also popular holiday options. Time shares involve purchasing a specific share of a vacation home, typically a condo of some sort, in your favorite vacation locale. Because time shares have been around for some time, there are all kinds of exchange programs that allow you to vacation in more than one location.

Fractionals are the most recent in holiday options. Fractionals are similar to time shares, though they tend to be more luxurious. PRCs (private residence clubs) fall into this category. Fractionals are suitable for people who routinely stay in five-star hotels and who are accustomed to luxurious surroundings.
