No. Bay leaves are toxic to dogs.

Bay leaves are great for spicing up your pilaf or soupy dishes. This warm and aromatic spice has a minty flavor which is ideal for enhancing the taste of Italian, French, and Indian dishes. 

Some people even add bay leaves to containers of rice, food grains, or pulses to repel bugs and keep them fresh longer. The strong aroma of bay leaf’s volatile oils repels all kinds of bugs that spoil these grains.

Therefore, it is no surprise that bay leaf is toxic to dogs as well. If your pet picks up a bay leaf that you accidentally dropped on the floor, please give the  ‘drop it’ command right away.

You don’t want your doggo to chew the leaf. Its essential oils and chemicals (terpenes, eucalyptol, Sesquiterpenes, etc) could harm your pet, resulting in symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, or severe abdominal pain.
