No, dogs should not eat chips! Your dog would surely be better without them. They are essentially only fried potatoes with flavorings that contain a high amount of salts, carbohydrates, and fat which can lead to health issues such as obesity and kidney problems when fed regularly.

Even if you say the only problems are the salt and flavoring and think that is safe to feed unflavored or unsalted chips, you are still wrong! A few unsalted chips may not hurt your dog from time to time but still, it is not a very good choice for a treat due to all the fat and oils it contains.

When taken in large amounts especially if the chips are rich in flavorings, your dog can have a stomachache, diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. It’s not particularly deadly but it can cause a lot of pain to your dog and, in the long run, develop further health issues.

To ensure your pet will live a long and healthy life, it is always a good idea to invest in pet health insurance. Preparing for the unexpected guarantees money is never an issue in keeping you pup healthy.
