Yes, with a little preparation kumquats can be offered to your pup in moderation.
Before offering this fruit to your pup, remove the peel. Kumquat peels are especially high in citrus oil which can cause allergic reactions in dogs and is very difficult on their livers. If your pup eats a whole, peel on kumquat it is best to contact a vet. You also need to remove the seeds of this fruit. While they are not necessarily toxic, they are a choking hazard and an internal blockage risk.
While kumquats are not especially high in sugar they are high in magnesium. Too much of which will have a laxative effect on your pup. To avoid this limit your pup’s consumption of kumquats to one or two per week.
