But Lavender isn’t safe for dogs. Sure, you have pet shampoos containing lavender essential oil but it is in minuscule quantities.

If a small dog inhales the lavender oil in its concentrated form, it could start sneezing. Inhaling large quantities of pure or concentrated lavender oil can irritate your dog’s sensitive olfactory system. Licking the concentrated essential oil could also result in linalool poisoning.

The Linalool compound in lavender oil is known to cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs, especially when licked in large quantities. Chewing the flowers, stems, twigs, and leaves of the lavender plant may also result in an upset stomach and dizziness in small dogs.
