A veterinarian will perform a full physical exam and medical history questionnaire. A urinalysis and bloodwork can conclude disfunction in the kidneys. An ultrasound or an x-ray will show deformation of the kidneys for a firm diagnosis.
There is no cure for renal dysplasia. If the condition is mild the life of your pup can be extended with a combination of kidney supporting supplements and a special diet.
