It’s Thanksgiving, the whole family is gathered round. Grandpa told Aunt Tilly NOT to bring her dog. She did anyway. That pup has been eyeing that beautifully glistening bird all day. Can she have some?
Dogs can definitely eat turkey.
Avoid giving them any skin. Skin often traps lots of the seasoning for cooked turkey. Dogs should not eat human seasoning.
Additionally, be sure to avoid giving your dog any turkey bones. Bones can splinter, cutting the mouth or puncture the digestive tract. They can also get stuck and require surgery to remove.
If this is the first time you are giving turkey to your dog, only give her a small amount and then monitor her for several hours to make sure it agrees with her system.
