Mushrooms you would buy at the store – white button, bella, shitake and others are all safe for your dog to eat raw or cooked. When you cook mushrooms for your dog, do not use any butter, oil or seasoning on the mushrooms as these can all cause digestive problems for your dog.
However, when you and your pup are on a walk, if you catch your dog eating ANY mushroom immediately contact a vet.
Poisonous mushrooms come in many shapes and by many names. Unfortunately they also have so many different symptoms. If you suspect your dog has eaten anything outside and then your dog presents abnormal symptoms, contact a vet immediately.
