Your cat Rufus keeps giving Scruffy knowing looks over his saucer of milk. Those two are always in some kind of quiet war. Can you just give Scruffy some milk to end this battle?
Yes, dogs can have milk in very limited quantities. Very limited quantities means around an ⅛ of a cup at most in one sitting.
The most important thing to note is that milk is high in fat and sugar. Either of these alone can be difficult for your dog, but together they can cause obesity or even pancreatitis.
Additionally like humans, many dogs are lactose intolerant. If you are giving your dog dairy for the very first time, give very little and then monitor your dog for adverse symptoms.
If your dog cannot have milk, it doesn’t mean she cannot have any dairy. Many dogs can tolerate cheese and yogurt but not straight milk.
