Yes, your dog can have sweet potatoes, but like most human food, it should only be given in moderation. 

Sweet potatoes can help boost your dog’s immune system, help maintain healthy eyes, hair and skin. 

Always peel sweet potatoes. The skin can pose a choking risk to dogs. Chop the potatoes to a size your pup will be able to easily eat. Cook sweet potatoes thoroughly and allow them to cool to room temperature before you offer them to your pup. 

Dogs with diabetes should avoid sweet potatoes as they have a high glycemic index.
